LET'S WORK TOGETHER

Join us at our next WIA event

WIA Events

The WIA (Women in Architecture) is a subcommittee of the AIA Silicon Valley. Founded in 2015, the committee’s focus is on expanding equity, equality, and diversity in the profession of architecture. The WIA offers programs which empower and support women as they establish their professional identities, develop their career paths, and find their leadership direction. Gender serves as a gateway topic to addressing experiences of diversity - allowing a flexible and expansive focus on topics. These are addressed through our events as the committee members and event guests navigate their intersectional identities and the challenges of living and working in a complex socio-historic context, a dynamic economic and technological region, and a turbulent political climate.

Mindfulness Practices for Everyday

Saturday, August 03, 2024 | 9:30 AM – 11:00 PM

Cost: $30 per person

Description:

Join us on Saturday, August 3rd, for a Mindfulness, Wellbeing and Movement session in a relaxing nature setting with Michelle Ihrig. It will be a fun morning wellness escape with connection and grounding. We’ll get out of our head and into our body with stretching, breathing, pranayama, affirmations, gratitude and haiku.

Why?

Mindfulness raises our awareness. It brings us into the present, which grounds and heals.  It is proven to reduce overwhelm, stress and anxiety.  Mindfulness enhances wellbeing, emotional intelligence and creativity, allowing us to respond vs react to life’s challenges, grow our resiliency and connect to our higher selves.

About Michelle Mueller Ihrig:

Michelle is an International Coaching Federation accredited professional coach, a neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) certified coach, level I Pranayama certified, a facilitator, and international speaker who focuses on mindset, wellbeing and leadership.  She is a manager of operations in Hospitality.  Many of her ideas are nature inspired as she believes the answers of how to live well lie therein.  Her mission is to inspire connection to create positive impact.

Location:

Address: 20764 4th St, Saratoga, CA 95070

Wildwood Park in Saratoga is a beautiful wooded 4-acre park with a creek. It is a hidden gem, the perfect setting for a retreat. Wildwood Park offers a serene escape from the bustling city life, providing a tranquil oasis for nature enthusiasts. The park is conveniently located near downtown Saratoga, yet it is nestled at the edge, making it feel remote and isolated. There is a stage area that we have reserved for WIA. Please meet us at the stage area. The park does have restrooms.

Parking:

A small parking area is located adjacent to Wildwood at the front end of the parking lot for the Inn at Saratoga. There is a wood bridge that crosses over the creek from the area to the park. The park can also be accessed directly from Fourth Street and attendees can park on the local Saratoga streets.

Logistics:

– Please bring your own yoga mat and your own water bottle.

– Healthy snacks, smoothies and water will be provided.
